CAPSULE BIOGRAPHY
Shirley Lee Voon-Hsien is a lecturer at
University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). Shirley graduated with a Monash University Foundation
Year (MUFY) from the Sunway University, Malaysia in 2001. She obtained her Bachelor
Degree in Business & Commerce from the Monash University, Malaysia in
2005. She continued her scholarly endeavors in 2007 with a Master Degree in
Business from the same university, Australia in 2007 and is completing her
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from UTAR.
Shirley’s work is recognized at the
international level. She has published more than 15 papers in international
refereed journals of which 8 papers are ranked by Thomson Reuters (ISI) such as
the Journal of Computer Information Systems, Production
Planning & Control, Managing Service Quality, Total Quality
Management & Business Excellence, Journal of Knowledge Management,
International Journal of Manpower and Asian Journal of Technology Innovation.
Shirley had received several research awards, including the ‘Best Conference Paper Award’ for her research on HRM Practices and Organizational Learning at the Technology Innovation and Industrial Management (TIIM) Conference, Thailand in 2010 and the ‘Best Paper Award’ from the International Journal of Network and Mobile Technologies in 2011 on the Technology Management field. One of her Thomson ISI-Ranked papers entitled “A Structural Analysis of the Relationship between TQM Practices and Product Innovation” which was published in the Asian Journal of Technology Innovation has been selected by the Editor-in-Chief as one of the ‘Highly Cited’ papers in 2013. Also, another ISI-ranked paper entitled "A Structural Equation Model of TQM, Market Orientation and Service Quality: Evidence from a Developing Nation" which was published in the Managing Service Quality (MSQ) has been identified by the Editor-in-Chief of MSQ, Emerald as one of the ‘Most Downloaded’ papers. The paper entitled “HRM practices and Knowledge Sharing: An Empirical Study” which was published in the International Journal of Manpower has been identified by the Publisher of Emerald, UK as one of the ‘Top 20 Most Downloaded’ papers in 2012. This article received 1127 downloads in 2012
Shirley currently serves as a reviewer for many international journals
such as International Journal of Modeling in Operations Management (IJMOM),
International Journal of Services, Economics and Management (IJSEM) and International Journal of
Network and Mobile Technologies (IJNMT).
